About Egyptian Concrete Company

Egyptian Concrete Co. had its beginnings in 1940 in Salem, Illinois (70 miles east of St.Louis, Missouri) as a manufacturer of concrete pipe, supplying the southern third of Illinois known locally as “Little Egypt”.  In 1956 we began production of precast bridge beams and in 1978 we expanded to prestressed bridge beams, as well.

Though we have grown away from pipe, we have extended our product line to include other prestressed and precast bridge components, precast modular prison cells, lock and dam structural components, large modular retaining wall systems and specialty custom precast concrete products.  While Egyptian Concrete’s main focus is on producing precast structural concrete and engineered concrete systems, we also employ craftsmen skilled in the use of formliners and rustication that set us apart from most structural precasters.

Currently, we have two plants—the original in Salem, Illinois, and one also in Bonne Terre, Missouri (50 miles southwest of St. Louis).  We have multiple sales offices located in Salem, Chicago, and St. Louis, with our corporate offices located in Washington, Missouri.  While our primary service area resides in Illinois and Missouri, because of our resourcefulness at addressing special project needs we have also provided precast concrete products for projects in Indiana,  Ohio, Tennessee, Kentucky, Maryland, Virginia, Iowa, Mississippi, Arkansas, Utah, and Oregon.

The performance of our in-house quality control department ensures that the products Egyptian Concrete manufactures conform to the highest standard established by such agencies as the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, Illinois Department of Transportation, Missouri Department of Transportation, the City of Chicago, and the City of St. Louis.  All key production supervisors possess ACI/PCI Level 1/11 certificates of education and training.
